Tiles with the names of donors that have adorned an area around the flag pole at College of the Mainland’s Administration Building over the years have weathered and deteriorated. Recently, the decision was made to remove all the tiles and recognize the donors at another location.

Some of the tiles, which were purchased to celebrate the college’s 30th anniversary more than 20 years ago, were crumbling and some had even fallen off a small wall that surrounds the flag pole.

The college’s Department of Institutional Advancement has documentation of every tile sold and photos also were taken to assure everyone whose name was on a tile will be replicated.

Plans call for distinguished alumni and those whose names were on the tiles to be part of a Hall of Honor area and located inside. The exact location of the Hall of Honor has not been determined.
