East Asian affairs expert Gordon Chang will speak on the current North Korea crisis at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, in the Learning Resource Center Auditorium at College of the Mainland. The talk, “North Korea, China, America: War of Peace?” is free and open to the public.

The talk will be followed by a question-and-answer period and a reception with the author.
Chang is an internationally respected writer and observer on East Asian affairs. He is the author of “Nuclear Showdown: North Korea Takes on the World” (Random House, 2006) and is a regular columnist at The Daily Beast and Forbes.com.

Chang lived and worked in China and Hong Kong for almost two decades, most recently in Shanghai as counsel to the American law firm Paul Weiss and earlier in Hong Kong with the international law firm Baker & McKenzie. He is a graduate of Cornell University and Cornell Law School.

His writings on North Korea and China have also appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Far Eastern Economic Review, The Weekly Standard, and Commentary. He has appeared in discussions and as an analyst on CNN, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, CNBC, MSNBC, PBS, BBC and Bloomberg Television.
