Superheroes in concert

Music from “Captain America” and “The Incredibles” will fly in the College of the Mainland Concert Band’s public concert April 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building Theatre.

The patriotic “Captain America March” and songs from Disney’s “The Incredibles” will highlight the event. The concert’s other features include the upbeat “Seventy-Six Trombones” from “The Music Man” and a majestic suite from “The Planets” by Gustav Holst.

Color Concert

Colorful hits such as Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze” and Henry Mancini’s “Pink Panther” will take center stage in the COM Electric Guitar Ensemble April 27, 7:30 p.m. in the COM Fine Arts Building Recital Hall.

Their varied repertoire includes Dutch composer Annette Kruisbrink’s “White Yellow and Red,” Scottish rock band Cocteau Twins’ “Pink Orange Red,” and Booker T.’s “Green Onions.”

Saxophone Concert

“Let It Go” with the COM Saxophone Ensemble’s free concert filled with classics April 20 at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building Recital Hall.

“Pirates of the Caribbean,” the theme song from Spongebob Squarepants, “Let It Go” from Frozen will highlight the performance. The ensemble will also showcase their versatility with hits such as “You Can Call Me Al,” “Jump, Jive and Wail” and “Blue Skies.”

Directed by Timothy Kochen, the ensemble is comprised of COM students and community members.
