Joe Barnes, the Bonner Means Baker Fellow at the Baker Institute of Public Policy, will speak about how the upcoming presidential election could affect foreign policy on Oct. 27 12:30-1:30 p.m in the College of the Mainland Learning Resources Center Auditorium.

The lecture, part of COM’s International Speaker Series, is open to the public. 

From 1979 to 1993, Barnes was a career diplomat with the U.S. State Department, serving in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. He has written extensively on international economics, with a focus on the geopolitics of energy, and he has been published in “The New York Times,” “Houston Chronicle” and “The National Interest.” Barnes is a graduate of Princeton University.
