From shiny new markers for crafts to boxes of tissue for flu season, COMPeers, a College of the Mainland employee group, aims to help students with a fourth annual school supply drive.

“If ever we needed it, this is the year. We’ll give supplies to campuses – they have lists of students who need it,” said Susan Myers, TCISD deputy superintendent. “You’ve made us very happy.”

This is COMPeers’ second time to contribute supplies to Texas City; the organization has also given to La Marque and Hitchcock ISDs.

“We chose to give to Texas City this year because the district has many new students this fall,” said Rosie Rojas, COMPeers secretary.

COMPeers is continuing to collect Box Tops for Education and Labels for Education for local schools and pop tops from aluminum cans to benefit Ronald McDonald House in Galveston.
