Continuing its work for local schools, College of the Mainland employee group COMPeers collected and donated 1,076 Box Tops for Education to the True Cross Catholic School in Dickinson.

“The kids are always so excited. They act like the tops are gold,” said Rosie Rojas.

The school can redeem box tops for a $107.60 check from General Mills.

COMPeers has previously given to Texas City, La Marque, Santa Fe, Hitchcock, Dickinson ISD schools.

COMPeers is continuing to collect Box Tops for Education and Labels for Education for local schools and pop tops from aluminum cans to benefit Ronald McDonald House in Galveston.
