From the adventurous “Raiders of the Ark” to jubilant “Star Wars,” movie soundtracks and marches will spring to life in a free performance Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fine Arts Building Recital Hall.

Composer John Williams’ classic music will also include the theme from the 1988 Olympics.

Other popular selections include Rimsky-Korsakov's militaristic “Procession of the Nobles” and Georges Bizet's Spanish folkloric “Carmen Suite.”

The concert will triumphantly conclude with John Philip Sousa's “Semper Fidelis.”

"The 32 members of the band have been working very hard on bringing these pieces of music to life," said director Sparky Koerner. “Audience members will leave with these tunes in their heads.”

Comprised of community members and COM students, the COM Concert Band gives participants an opportunity to hone and present their skills while entertaining the community.
