Climb aboard for fast-paced comedy at the College of the Mainland Community Theatre’s production of “Boeing Boeing,” showing Nov. 7-24.

With three stewardesses engaged to him blissfully unaware of each other, bachelor Bernard imagines he has orchestrated the perfect life in 1960s Paris. Their alternating timetables work like a charm - when his American girlfriend jets off, his Italian sweetheart lands and his German fiancée is happily en route. A new, faster Boeing jet is a boon to the airplane industry but throws him into turbulence as all three stewardesses simultaneously land.

Hijinks and hilarity ensue as Bernard scrambles to continue his ruse, with his impeccable housekeeper (and acting air traffic controller) whisking about to assist him. The side-splitting laughs continue when his naïve school chum arrives as an unexpected guest and races to keep up. Enjoy a retro evening of fun as Bernard struggles to remember which lie to tell to whom, his hapless friend wonders whether a hotel stay might have been more relaxing, and the players scramble to avoid collision.

“It could only happen in the swinging sixties,” said director Mark Adams. “The play is constructed perfectly for maximum comedy.”

Written by French playwright Mark Camolletti, the hit “Boeing Boeing” recently enjoyed a highly successful run on Broadway, winning a Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play. Come along for the ride and see why “Boeing Boeing” has delighted audiences for more than forty years, proving humor never goes out of style.

Discounts are available to students and senior adults. The play runs Nov. 7-24, Thursday to Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. For tickets visit www.com.edu/theatre or call 409-933-8345.
