COM students win best of show
For their originality, creativity and skill, three students garnered best of show awards during the COM Annual Student Art Show.
In the 3-D category, Wendy Wong, pictured above, received best of show for her ceramics. In the 2-D category, Lindsey Dyer won an award for her sketches. Christopher Holmes earned best of show for his photography.
“We had a great level of talent displayed in the artwork,” said Art Gallery Director
Mayuko Gray.
Former Clear Lake Arts Alliance director Debra Kendrick selected works for exhibition
from more than 200 student pieces ranging from charcoal to pointillism, ceramics to
photography.
“A lot of good work came out of the classrooms,” said Kendrick. “It’s always hard
[to choose]. Students have a lot to be proud of.”
