Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning
The Gulf Coast Workforce Development Board projects that by 2022 opportunities for HVAC technicians and installers will increase 25.7 percent. The average hourly wage is $19.84. Completers of the Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning Program may find employment in:

Industrial Pipefitting
COM’s NCCER Industrial Pipefitting Program prepares students for a successful career in an entry-level position as a pipefitter helper often leading into a pipefitter career.

Electrical
Electricians are in high demand. By 2020 opportunities for electricians will increase by 8.3 percent along the Gulf Coast, according to the Gulf Coast Workforce Development Board. Job prospects for electricians are very good, as many employers report difficulty finding qualified applicants. (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2016)
The median hourly wage for electricians is $21.71 and for electrician apprentices is $14.82. (Department of Labor, 2016)

Machinist – Manual
The Gulf Coast industries are investing billions of dollars in capital improvements throughout the Texas coast area. Mitchell Chuoke Jr. Plumbing Pre-Apprenticeship
The Mitchell Chuoke Jr. Plumbing Certificate is a pre-apprenticeship program and will provide individuals with the entry-level knowledge and skills to pursue an industry apprenticeship. This 80-hour program will cover residential and commercial aspects of the plumbing trade, emphasizing safety.
Welding Technologies
Working with artistic precision, welders possess high-level skills that many companies, especially those in manufacturing, compete to employ. The overall employment of welders, cutters, solderers and brazers in the Gulf Coast from 2011 to 2020 is projected to grow 26.7 percent.
