College of the Mainland Names New Police Chief
College of the Mainland (COM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rodney Meyers as the new police chief of the College of the Mainland Police Department (COM PD), following an extensive search. His appointment comes after serving as the interim police chief since March 1.
With a proven track record of leadership at COM, Meyers has dedicated the past 12 years of service to the College. Immediately prior to serving as the interim police chief, he held the role of lieutenant.
"I am proud to announce the appointment of Rodney Meyers as our new police chief,” said COM President Warren Nichols. “His extensive experience and commitment to fostering positive relationships within our school community, is a priceless asset for leading our campus safety efforts. With his leadership, we look forward to the positive impact he will make on the safety and well-being of COM."
Sergeant Vanessa Walker will assume the role of lieutenant. Walker has been with COM PD for more than 10 years.
Meyers and Walker will begin their new roles on May 1.
