Back-to-School COVID-19 Safety Update
Dear College of the Mainland Community:
As we gear up for the start of our fall semester this coming Monday, we want to ensure that we provide a safe and successful learning experience this year. While we continue to navigate through the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, please note the following regarding College of the Mainland’s latest guidelines and procedures for campus safety:
- Before arriving on campus, students, employees and visitors should complete an online self-screen for symptoms related to COVID-19 and acknowledge safety guidance at www.com.edu/selfscreen.
- Individuals must wear a mask or face covering when inside buildings or when outside within 6 feet of others.
- The library, tutoring center and computer labs will remain open to students with reduced staffing, limited hours and limited capacity.
- Please review our updated Reopening Guidelines for a comprehensive outline of important safety and service details, and visit www.com.edu/coronavirus for additional coronavirus resources and updates.
Although most courses and services will be available in an online format, in the limited instances where campus presence is needed, the college will practice all appropriate social distancing and sanitization measures. As a reminder, any student, faculty, staff or visitor who is experiencing signs or symptoms of illness, is asked to stay home as a measure to prevent the spread of the virus.
COM administration is also closely monitoring the current tropical disturbance in the Gulf. As the situation continues to develop, we ask that employees and students monitor COM emails, text alerts, social media channels and the www.com.edu website for the most up-to-date information.
Together, with the support of our students, employees and campus community, we remain committed to delivering a successful learning experience through these most challenging times. We look forward to learning with you this fall.
