Free tutor services are offered for all ADN & VN students enrolled in College of the Mainland nursing programs. Group sessions are scheduled for all nursing courses. Extra individual and/or group sessions are available and encouraged as needed for those students who have attended group sessions and require additional assistance. These services are intended to augment, support, & reinforce the information and skills taught in the classroom and/or lab.

Tutors also serve to counsel & advise nursing students on methods to improve student retention and attainment of educational goals. Methods may include student socialization, study skills/techniques, priority setting, test-taking skills, dealing with test anxiety, and personal issues.

Sessions and office hours are indicated by published schedules located on nursing bulletin boards in the hallway and outside the office assigned to the tutor. Tutor phone numbers and email addresses are available to all faculty, staff, and students.
